Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor in the Institute of Culinary Education. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and her energised appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals concise easy-to-master techniques to cook at home on her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was also employed in many of New York's best restaurant chains, delved into Italian cuisine along with its traditional recipes, and participated in Food Network Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was a great adventure for me. It was impossible to study and do enough. After graduating, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Her understanding grew of Italian culinary and cultural traditions throughout her time in Italy which has had an impact on her culinary style. Burrell was part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten the lives of kids facing obstacles. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador in which she promotes an awareness campaign on children with diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her professional career. Anne stated that she felt privileged in that she could be able to share her passion for cooking with the people around her.
