Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American television chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef featuring her distinctive sparkling blonde locks, and her bubbly up personality, reveals simple techniques that anyone can grasp. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious restaurants that are located in New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy and competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the state of New York, Chef Burrell began to develop a love of cooking and eating at young age. She furthered her interest in food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. She says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." It was difficult to master enough and I could not accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy participating in Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a 1 Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she grew to truly recognize and comprehend the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that made a lasting impression from a culinary perspective. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador who promotes an awareness campaign on juvenile diabetes. She frequently travels around the nation in her capacity as a mentor and an invited speaker, where she talks about her professional life and the joy of cooking. Throughout Anne's culinary journey she has said, "I feel so lucky to be able to share my passion in life with others.
