Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born on the 5th of September, 1973) is an American
actress and activist. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992),
and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her
performance in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakout role
came in the horror film Scream in the year 1996. She was then the lead in the
film Jawbreaker (1999) as well as Devil in the Flesh (2000). In the decade
2000, McGowan became known to TV viewers for her character in the role of Paige
Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). She then
appeared in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film
Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated for both the Saturn Award for
Best Actress as well as the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. She was a part
of the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) as well as released her debut
studio album, Planet 9, in 2018. It was followed by a revamp in 2020. McGowan
was named one of the Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. This award
recognizes McGowan's advocacy on sexual harassment and assault especially in
relation to Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual abuse and the Me Too movement. In
2018, she released Brave the memoir of her life, and was a part of Citizen
Rose, a four-part documentary series.
