Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger was born on the 25th of April 1969, in Katy, Texas, Her mother Kjellfridirene (Andreassen), is a nurse born in Norway, former and midwife of Norwegian, Kven (Finnish), and Swedish descent. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer from Switzerland. They were married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger was Renee's older brother. He is a marketing executive who was born on February 15, 1967. Renee was a part of the drama club in high school when she began to become interested in acting. She enrolled in an acting class at University of Texas (Austin) and began to consider acting as a career. She was keen to pursue acting after graduation. But, Hollywood can be difficult to break into, therefore Renee decided to stay in Texas and audition for roles in Houston. She got roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her pal while she was working on the set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee saw him working on a project , and she auditioned. She was offered the role in Love as well as the 45 (1994). This received her enough praise, that she relocated to Los Angeles. Her breakthrough came in another role in The Whole Wide World (1996). Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry Maguire (1996) in which she starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was taking a look at actresses like Bridget Fonda and Marisa Tomei when he saw Zellweger's performance on The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition was conducted by Zellweger to confirm that the actress was in fact his Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued her great success in small independent films. She was praised again from critics and felt sure that she was capable of re-entering large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep was her co-star in One True Thing (1998). Also, she acted in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and starred opposite Jim Carrey, and soon after that, she started dating Jim Carrey. in the title role in Bridget Jones's Diary (2001).
